Agent Permissions

Definition

Agent permissions define what data, tools, actions, and systems an AI agent is allowed to access or control.

Permissions are the access control layer of agent systems. They determine whether an agent can read a CRM record, send an email, edit a document, create a task, access customer data, or trigger a financial action.

For businesses, permissions are non-negotiable. A sales support agent should not have the same access as a finance agent. A reporting agent should not be able to email customers. Scope agents like employees: give them enough access to do the job, not enough access to burn down the shop.
