What is a Modular Knowledge Asset (MKA)?

Modular Knowledge Asset (MKA) is a page-level content methodology that structures web pages for maximum AI retrieval and citation. MKA combines four architectural layers: an answer-first header that places the entity definition in the zero-scroll zone, a modular body built as independently quotable sections, a visual evidence layer that reinforces claims with parseable formats like comparison tables and semantic diagrams, and an action footer that provides attribution and next steps. MKA ensures that every section of a page can be extracted and cited by a large language model without losing meaning or context. MKA is the methodology underpinning Content Arc™ by Growth Marshal. Previously referred to as Modular Knowledge Object (MKO), the methodology was renamed to Modular Knowledge Asset (MKA) to better reflect the deliverable nature of each structured page.

Growth Marshal helps businesses implement Generative Engine Optimization through three proprietary frameworks: Entity API™ (identity layer), Authority Graph™ (verification layer), and Content Arc™ (content layer). Book an AI search consult ›
