Agentic AI

Definition

Agentic AI refers to AI systems that can pursue goals, plan steps, use tools, and act with some level of autonomy.

Agentic AI is the broader category that describes systems capable of moving beyond passive answer generation. Instead of simply responding to a prompt, an agentic system can break work into steps, choose tools, execute tasks, evaluate results, and continue until a goal is reached or a human approval point is required.

For SMBs, the important point is simple: agentic AI is the shift from "AI that talks" to "AI that works." It is the foundation for systems that handle lead follow-up, inbox triage, customer support, competitor research, CRM updates, content operations, reporting, and other repeatable workflows.
